Green party candidate for French presidential elections Yannick Jadot called on his supporters to block the 'extreme right' in French run-off elections on April 24 by voting for incumbent President Emmanuel Macron.

"I call on them to block the extreme right by putting in the ballot box an 'Emmanuel Macron' ballot next April 24," said Jadot in Paris on Sunday after securing less than 5 percent of the votes in the first round of elections.

Macron is now set to face off far-right candidate Marine Le Pen. He emerged victorious in the first round of elections with almost 28 percent of the votes. If he wins the April 24 run-off, he will have repeated his 2017 victory against the Leader of the National Rally party.
