Description

A large crowd of protesters joined a march led by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and its military wing, in Gaza on Wednesday.

Protesters touted a victory in the 'Sword of Jerusalem Battle,' the name given by Palestinians to the latest conflict with Israel, and called for continued resistance.

"Our message to the Zionist enemy is that the resistance continues, the language of engagement, a language that condemned the battle, and the hand on the trigger is the only way with this Israeli equipment, and we say that we have become closer to liberation and closer to Jerusalem," said Jamil Mezher, a leader of the Popular Front.

The march, which started from Palestine Square in Gaza City and reached the rubble of the Al-Wahda Street massacre, saw combat units from the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades carrying missile units that showcased long-range rocket launchers.

An Egyptian-mediated ceasefire was reached between Israel and Palestinian militants on Thursday, May 20, bringing to an end the worst outbreak of violence since 2014, that left 12 Israelis and 248 Palestinians dead after 11 days of hostilities.
