Footage shows neighbourhood volunteers, including children, arranging iftar tables and chairs, while others serve the meals and beverages. The streets can be seen decorated with traditional Ramadan ornaments. Footage also shows residents breaking their fast while the local youth are seen cheering, clapping to music and playing with firecrackers after their meal.
"Every year, we gather on the 27th day of Ramadan. We've been gathering for three years now. It's a very nice day, and all the residents of the area come together to share and participate," explained a young local, Yasser Mohamed.
Another local resident, Mohamed Ahmed, added, "It is the best day of the year. I pray God gives us health and the ability to make it much better."
The month of Ramadan, esteemed in the Islamic faith as a period of reverence and devotion, is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar.
This annual observance entails devout prayers during the late evening and voluntary abstinence from both food and drink throughout the daylight hours.
