Residents of College Station, Texas, on Sunday described their growing frustration about the ongoing noise from Amazon's Prime Air delivery drones, as the tech giant tests continues test flights in the area.
"They're huge drones, sounds just like a like a giant beehive, just flying through the air, pretty noisy. [We] try to have a quiet neighbourhood but you know, but they're flying through," said one resident, Martin Fox.
Footage captured on Sunday also shows in the sky, as well as locals watching videos they had recorded.
"They're six to eight feet ….and they're very loud, and there's a frequency that they go off that once you hear it it is something out of a sci-fi movie, so think of all the bad movies from the 90s and 80s, that's what they're like," claimed Brecken Rossman, another local.
Amazon recently petitioned the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to increase drone delivery flights in College Station from 200 to 469 per day, while the local mayor, John Nichols, claims the noise levels will 'only get worse' and have a negative impact on residents' live.
According to media reports, the company claimed it took local feedback into consideration 'wherever possible' and was also considering 'alternate sites'.
