Description

The International Tattoo Convention 2023 returned to China again after a three-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic with an eclectic mix of ink aficionados and top-notch tattoo artists from around the globe, in Langfang of Hebei province, on Saturday.

Footage features tattoo models showcasing new designs and tattoo artists showing off their skills as tattoo lovers flocking to the event can be seen.

Xu Wenyang, the Project Manager of the China International Tattoo Convention, stated that these events served as a catalyst for Chinese tattoo artists to achieve greater artistic excellence and to enhance the quality of their work through tattoo exhibitions and technical exchanges.

Wenyang also included that the purpose of these exhibitions, in his view, was to offer a platform for emerging tattoo artists to showcase their craft and learn from others. He highlighted that the pandemic prevented foreign artists from attending the convention, leading to a lack of opportunities for new artists to showcase their work and learn from others.

“This tattoo exhibition is a long-waited opportunity for young tattoo artists in China, and it is the first time in three years that they can get in touch with excellent international tattoo artists face-to-face,” said Wenyang.

Roma Stanley, a tattoo artist from Russia, said that Russian artists were interested in exploring new studios and meeting new people in the industry. The Russian artist also mentioned that obtaining a visa and purchasing flight tickets was not a difficult task and only took two weeks to get it.

The China International Tattoo Art Festival has a long-standing history and is reportedly the largest event in the country's tattoo industry. It sets the highest industry benchmark and offers the most authoritative and intense competition, as well as active industry exchanges.
