Description

Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband crashed the official Harris Campaign debate watch party in Philadelphia, following her first and potentially only debate against former president and current GOP candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday night.

Footage shows Harris and her husband Douglas Craig Emhoff on stage addressing a crowd of supporters carrying Harris Walz campaign signs.

"This is very much about two different visions for our country, ours, which is focused on the future, and his, which looks to the past and seeks to take us backwards," said Harris. "As I mentioned during the debate, we are not going back."

Harris explained to her supporters that the presidential race is set to be a close one. "We have 56 days to go, and guys, we're still the underdogs. It’s tight. We need to win Pennsylvania, and we are going to win Pennsylvania," she declared.

Focusing on the core values of her campaign, she noted: "We love our country and believe in who we are and the American people. This campaign is about bringing people together, recognizing that we have far more in common than what divides us. It’s about inclusion, not division, and lifting up working families and individuals striving to get ahead."

Harris replaced incumbent Joe Biden as the democratic nominee after a slew of high-profile gaffes and a disastrous showing at the presidential debate in Atlanta led him to drop out of the race. Trump described Harris's candidacy as a 'coup' against Biden after the current president insisted he was best placed to win in the days and weeks before he stepped aside.
