Description

China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Lin Jian announced on Wednesday that the Chinese government has imposed sanctions on nine US military-industrial enterprises due to their sales of arms to Taiwan. Lin Jian condemned these actions as a 'serious violation' of the one-China principle and an infringement on China's sovereignty and security interests.

"The Taiwan issue is the core of China's core interests and is the first impenetrable red line in Sino-US relations. No one should underestimate China's firm will and strong capacity to oppose Taiwan's independence and defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity," Lin Jian said.

He urged the United States to adhere to the one-China principle and the three joint communiques between China and the US, calling for an immediate halt to arming Taiwan and ceasing support for Taiwan's independence. Lin Jian emphasised that China would take "resolute and strong measures" to safeguard its national sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

Lin Jian further stated that US arms sales to Taiwan have "seriously raised tensions in the region, threatened regional peace and security, and undermined the global strategic balance and stability." He called on the United States to abandon its deployment plans and urged other countries to "wake up to the real objectives of the United States side" and act prudently in military security matters.

The companies facing sanctions include Sierra Nevada Corporation, Stick Rudder Enterprises, Cubic Corporation, S3 Aerospace, TCOM Ltd Partnership, TextOre, Planate Management Group, ACT1 Federal, and Exovera. According to local media reports, these firms are being targeted due to their involvement in arms transactions with Taiwan.
