Nigerian football player Kelechi Iheanacho said he felt 'happy' after winning 1-0 over Egypt in the African Cup of Nations (CAN), speaking during a postgame conference in Garoua on Tuesday.

"We have been working really hard how to play against them, and we did that today, so it is a massive trade point for us. Hopefully, this will give a momentum going forward for the next games," said Kelechi Iheanacho, Nigerian player and striker of the game's sole goal.

Despite Egypt being one of the strongest teams in Africa, the Nigerian team could get an advantage point at 30 minutes from the game and hold it.

Coach Carlos Queiroz, the head coach of Egypt, recognised the defeat in the press conference, but he added that an alleged 'closed-eye' penalty during the game was 'scandalous.'

Nigeria will face Sudan in the next round, as Egypt will face Guinea-Bissau in this African Cup of Nations held in Cameroon.
