Thousands of Muslims gathered on a football field in the Al Azhar mosque complex in Jakarta on Saturday morning to attend Eid al-Fitr prayers, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Footage shows men and women, some with children, praying in the yard of the Al Azhar mosque. Indonesian Minister of Defence and presidential candidate, Prabowo Subianto was seen participating in the collective prayer.
“I am very happy that this year we can all pray together here at Al Azhar, with my son and my family. It is ok that my son joining the woman's line, I hope next year he can join the men's line,” a worshipper said.
