Description

Student protesters clashed with police in La Paz on Thursday after the opposition rejected an audit of the presidential election results by the Organisation of American States (OAS). Footage shows demonstrators confront officers as they try to enter the central Murillo Square.

Bolivia was hit by unrest over the disputed results which gave the current president, Evo Morales, enough votes to avoid a run-off. Despite the announcement that the numbers will be audited, the protests continued as the opposition demands a new vote without Morales taking part.

As demonstrations continue, two people were reported to have been killed in clashes between supporters and opponents of Evo Morales in Santa Cruz province.
