The Hungarian national football team's coach Marco Ross said that the team should be 'ashamed' of their second-half performance after their crushing 5:0 defeat against Germany during post-game press conference in Dusseldorf on Saturday.
"It was not a tactical problem," Rossi said. "It was a problem of losing all the duels, losing many balls through unenforced mistakes and then, after the second goal, we disappeared from the pitch. And this is the thing that is our thing more than everything."
"In the first half, we did much better even if we made two or three big mistakes, but the first half was absolutely acceptable - the second - no. So, the second is something about which we must be ashamed," he added.
The coach also noted that Germany's Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz were 'faster' than Hungary's defenders, causing the team 'several problems'.
"Against Germany, you can lose. It's normal if you lose. But if you lose 2-0, it's one thing - if you lose 5-0, it's a shame," he added.
Rossi also took responsibility for the team's defeat, stating: "I am the first responsible, and it's not that I'm looking for other responsibilities. Of course, I am the first, and after me, the players."
For his part, Germany's coach Julian Nagelsmann praised the players for doing a 'good job' and highlighted Havertz growth as a player.
"I think Kai has made a big leap in the last two years," he said. "I think he brings everything with him. I have known him since his youth. He brings everything with him, but he doesn't get away with it in the sense of how it should be. And now, I think he's running an incredible amount, he wants every ball."
"He's also a deep runner from the second row now because he doesn't play at the front anymore. At least not in the next game. He didn't play the whole game like he did at the World Cup. He scored a lot of goals. I think he's become very clever physically, and he's become very clever in England," Nagelsmann added.
Following their victory, Germany is expected to face Netherlands' national team at the Johan Cruijff Arena on September 10 in Amsterdam.
