Description

The clinical trials of the nasal form of the Sputnik V vaccine started in Moscow. Five participants received the first dose at Sechenov University on Wednesday.

According to chief clinical research specialist Daria Kurguzova, anyone of legal age can take part in the trial.

"Over the past six months they shouldn't have had vaccination, revaccination or the COVID-19 disease," she said.

Before getting the nasal vaccine, all participants undergo a complete clinical examination. After receiving the first dose, they are observed by doctors for the next six months.

Kurguzova explained that, like the injection form of ‘Sputnik V’, the nasal vaccine has two doses.

According to the Moscow mayor's office, 400 people are expected to take part in the research. In addition, the vaccine is being tested in St. Petersburg.
