Description

Democratic representatives were among protesters who gathered outside the Capitol on Thursday before the House of Representatives’ vote to limit the power of US President Donald Trump to declare war on Iran.

"No more making decisions without us at the table, saying 'yes' or 'no'. And we are saying 'no' right now today," said US Representative for Michigan's 13th congressional district Rashida Tlaib whose anti-war sentiments were echoed by Ilhan Omar among others.

"No war with Iran," urged Junior US Senator from Oregon Jeff Merkley whose chants led the anti-war protest.

On Thursday, the House of Representatives passed a resolution demanding Trump seek Congress' approval before taking any military action against Iran in the wake of rising tensions between Tehran and Washington.
