Footage captured on Tuesday reveals the catastrophic aftermath of the blaze, with flames sweeping deeper into the forest, trees and grass consumed by fire, and thick smoke billowing into the air.
"The trees were so beautiful. Hey, I went to see that; it's a shame; it's so disastrous to see that you could even start crying," said Pablo Villegas, a resident.
He shared that his land with cocoa plantations and his neighbours' plots, 'everything has been burnt'.
"More or less, approximately, we have lost about a hectare and a half, more or less with everything, a hectare and a half to the fire," declared Villegas.
