Human rights activists rallied in front of Governors' residence in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on Wednesday to commemorate the second anniversary of the murder of George Floyd.

Protesters could be seen holding signs reading "Black lives matter" and portraits of George Floyd gathering, chanting and giving speeches.

The video of the police officer Derek Chauvin kneeling with his body weight on George Floyd's back for over nine minutes that led to his death triggered a wave of protest in the USA and in many other countries.

Chauvin was later tired and found guilty of second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. He was sentences to 22 years

Former Minneapolis police officers Alexander Kueng, Tou Thao, and Thomas Lane have all been convicted of the charges of violating George Floyd's civil rights by showing deliberate indifference and failing to provide medical aid as officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on Floyd's back.

Thao and Kueng were found guilty of an extra charge for failing to intervene to stop Chauvin, while Lane had testified that he tried twice to ask Chauvin to reposition Floyd during his restraining, failing both times.
