US President Joe Biden commented on the row involving a 'joke' about Puerto Rico at a Trump campaign rally in Madison Square Garden - saying he'd like to take the comedian in question 'for a swim' - during remarks in Baltimore on Tuesday.
"I'd like to take that guy for a swim out there, anyway," he said. Biden also appeared to forget the name of Senator Chris Van Hollen - dubbing him 'Chris Van Halen', similar to the US rock band - before correcting himself.
During Sunday's event, comic Tony Hinchcliffe's remark saw the Trump campaign distance itself from his act.
"Like, I don’t know if you guys know this, but there is literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now yeah. I think it’s called Puerto Rico," he told the crowd.
Trump faces off with Biden's Vice President Kamala Harris on November 5.
