Tehran residents largely criticised the government's handling of the Ukraine International Airlines plane crash on Sunday saying they expected to be told the truth about the incident sooner.
"The least expectation was to announce one-day public mourning and when they just announce that it was a mistake, we are really sorry about it," said Maryam Imani, a Tehran resident.
On Saturday, the Iran's armed forces admitted the plane was 'unintentionally' shot down on Wednesday after taking off from Tehran's Imam Khomeini airport.
"People are sad about the victims of the crash and really sorry for their families. Such incidents, no matter accidentally or intentionally, they increase the sadness of this nation and these families and such thing should not be done," said Reza Kashani, another resident.
176 passengers and crew were killed in the incident.
