Burkina Faso will play on in the African Cup of Nations after the military coup in the country, coach Kamou Malo said during a presser in Garoua on Friday prior to the quarter-final encounter against Tunisia.
"This morning we had the honour of having our new president on the phone who gave us advice and support. He reassured us that he will be available to accompany us to the end so our ambitions are clear. We are not obliged but I will say that it is a duty for us to try to go to the end of this competition," Malo said.
Burkinabes will not be taken lightly, Tunisia's captain Wahbi Khazri said on the other hand.
"We will face a good team from Burkina Faso that has great individualities, that collectively is solid, that we will not take lightly," said Khazri who plays his club football for Saint-Etienne in France.
The two teams are set to face each other in the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua.
The winner will face the winner of the Senegal-Equatorial Guinea game which is scheduled for Sunday.
