Police and Novak Djokovic supporters scuffled in Melbourne on Monday after the Serbian tennis star won his visa case earlier in the day.
Supporters were seen cheering and dancing outside the offices of Djokovic's lawyers after the verdict was announced.
Police made way for a car with tinted windows thought to be carrying the world number one player. Scuffles broke out and pepper spray was used amid tensions as the car drove off.
Earlier in the day, the Federal Court of Australia struck down a decision to terminate Djokovic’s visa on COVID-19 health grounds. The judge also ordered the immediate release of the tennis ace from immigration detention.
