Donald Trump supporters praised his 'confidence' and 'bravery' following last weekend's assassination attempt, as the former president accepted the Republican Party's nomination at the RNC in Milwaukee on Friday.

"He looked choked up, and you don't see Trump emotional like that because he is a businessman and obviously he is gonna try to be as strong as he can, but he did seem a little bit emotional getting ready before he was on stage," said Adam.

Footage shows them watching the speech from a bar and chanting: "Trump! President Trump!"

"For him, almost getting his brain splattered and still being on TV, running for president, that shows a lot of bravery, a lot of leadership. Yeah, that's a good time," added Malcolm. Rashad also said that it showed 'confidence' to go ahead with the address.

During his speech, the president claimed he was there "only by the grace of Almighty God", before describing the moment of the shooting itself. He also said that he was the best choice for US foreign policy, stating that he believed DPRK leader Kim Jong Un 'misses' him and that Russia and China were afraid of another Trump presidency.

His speech concludes the RNC, while the Democratic convention is scheduled for next month.
