Hafnaoui won the 400m freestyle event in 3:45.68 min. The silver medal was won by Australian Jack McLaughlin, while the bronze medal was awarded to American Kieran Smith.

The 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics kicked off in Japan on Friday, 23 July. The Games are scheduled to run from 23 July to 8 August 2021 after being postponed last year due to the COVID pandemic.
