Description

Security was tight in Paris on Monday, with police putting barriers in place and redirecting traffic near the Elysee Palace, ahead of the 'Normandy Four' meeting.

French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin, are expected to convene for talks of one of its kind after three years of stalled discussions, treating topics such as the return of Ukraine prisoners, local elections at the territories of Lugansk and Donetsk and a cease fire.

The Normandy contact group, consisting of Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France, was created on the side of the 70th Anniversary of D-Day landings in Normandy in 2014, aiming to find a solution for the War in Donbass.
