Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny’s slander trial continued at Moscow’s Babushkinskiy district court on Tuesday.

The anti-corruption activist is accused of slandering WWII veteran Ignat Artemenko last summer on his personal Twitter and Telegram accounts. Navalny has denied the charges.

If convicted, he faces a fine of up to one million roubles ($13,335/€11,130) or compulsory work for up to 240 hours.

On February 2, the Kremlin critic was sentenced in a separate case to two years and eight months in a penal colony.
