Description

A thick layer of fog blanketed Istanbul's Bosphorus Bridge on Wednesday, creating a stunning natural spectacle.

Footage shows the enormous steel towers peeking out from the mist as cars pass over the iconic suspension bridge which spans the Bosphorus Strait.

The Turkish General Directorate of Coastal Safety said, "Ship traffic has been suspended in both directions in the Bosphorus Strait due to heavy fog."

The Bosphorus Bridge, also known as the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, is one of Istanbul's most distinctive architectural landmarks and was opened on October 30, 1973.
