Description

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) leader Kim Jong-Un oversaw missile launch tests on Wednesday, with images showing him looking at launch sites and viewing explosions.

The DPRK tested new tactical ballistic missiles using 'super-large warheads' and modified cruise missiles, as Kim called for stronger conventional weapons and nuclear capabilities, according to state news agency KCNA.

Kim was quoted as saying that the tests were conducted to improve weapons capabilities because of the 'grave threat posed by outside forces to the security of the country'.

Recently the DPRK leader made multiple military inspections in several military bases in the country, including the Nuclear Weapons Institute and 'uranium enrichment' facility, marking the first time the country's domestically-developed technologies for uranium enrichment had been seen.
