Description

A group of "Just Stop Oil" activists slowed down the traffic in central London on Wednesday to demand the suspension of oil and gas exploration licenses.

The footage features activists preparing and later marching with orange-colour banners reading 'Just Stop new Oil' and chanting 'No new gas, No new coal, Insulate Britain'.

"Our demand is simple, our demand is that the UK government does the thing it needs to do right now and that’s halt all new oil licenses," said Sam, an activist with the group.

The march marked the first time the group's activists were back for another round of demonstrations since November 10.

Environmental group 'Greenpeace' reportedly claimed the new licensing round was 'possibly unlawful' and was considering its options.

The government says it will boost Britain's energy security and create jobs.
