German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in Ankara on Thursday, where she met with Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to hold talks over the Turkish migration deal with the European Union to control the flow of migrants into Europe.
The two leaders will also discuss a Turkish request for the extradition of dozens of soldiers who are seeking asylum in Germany. The soldiers were allegedly a part of Turkey's failed coup in July 2016.
Merkel landed in Esenboga International Airport in Ankara before driving to the Turkish parliament. The German Chancellor is expected to meet with members of the main secularist and pro-Kurdish opposition parties after meeting with Erdogan.
