German Chancellor Angela Merkel met with UK Prime Minister Theresa May in Berlin on Tuesday, one day before a European Union meeting on Brexit.

According to reports, May is expected to campaign for an extension of the deadline to June 30, in order to receive an approval by the UK parliament for her deal with the EU. As it stands, the UK will leave the EU without a deal on April 12, after MPs had rejected May's last Brexit deal by a majority of 58.

May will reportedly follow next to Paris to meet French President Emanuel Macron.
