Description

An exhibition of landmark silver screen memorabilia took place in Los Angeles on Thursday, as Propstore showcased iconic items from Hollywood films and series ahead of auction next month.

Footage shows a highly coveted array of props and costumes from television and film franchises. Highlights included Forrest Gump's box of chocolates, Batman's Batwing, R2D2 from 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', and Child's Play's Chucky doll and Slimer from Ghostbusters.

The highest bids are expected for Indiana Jones’s famous fedora, expected to reach $250,000, and Rose’s coat from the sinking scene in 'Titanic', estimated at $100,000.

“This is still a fledgling hobby. A lot of people don't know that you can actually buy things from your favourite films and television shows, and so the prices have been escalating over the years. But, they're almost one of a kind," said Chuck Costas, Propstore's Vice President.

"We work directly with the studios as well as people in the business to source new material all the time,” he added.

Scheduled for August 15-18, the auction aims to attract enthusiasts eager to own pieces of cinematic history.
