Description

Chinese MOFA spokesperson Wang Wenbin said Beijing is willing to 'create a broad space for peaceful reunification' but will never 'leave any space for various forms of Taiwan independence and separatist activities', speaking at a daily briefing on Tuesday.

He went on to say that the 'more rampant' Taiwan independence activities are, the less likely it is for a peaceful settlement.

Speaking from a podium to about a dozen of journalists, Wang Wenbin addressed the US, saying that the one-China policy should be implemented, referring to the Sino-US joint communiques as the diplomatic basis for doing so.

Wang Wenbin also mentioned that Beijing encourages and supports all diplomatic efforts for the peaceful settlement of the armed conflict in Ukraine.

In addition, Chinese diplomat commented on the 'illegal entry of harassers' into the Chinese Consulate General in Manchester on Sunday.

"I hope that the British side will earnestly fulfill its responsibilities and take effective measures to strengthen the protection of the premises and personnel of Chinese embassies and consulates in the UK," the diplomat said.
