A group of female elephants were seen huddling around a calf as air raid sirens blare at the Ramat Gan Safari, near Tel Aviv, during the recent conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The footage shared by the safari park on social media last Friday, shows five female elephants surrounding the 14-month-old calf called Pele, as sirens blare and an explosion is heard nearby.
On Thursday last week, a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was agreed upon with the mediation of Egypt after 11 days of escalation. According to the respective authorities, the fighting led to 248 fatalities on the Palestinian side and 12 on the Israeli side.
