A legal issue involving Olympic winners in the team figure skating event has caused the medal award ceremony to be postponed, as announced at an IOC press conference in Beijing on Wednesday.
IOC spokesperson Mark Adams explained the situation but did not specify any details of the case.
“We will be doing on our level to make sure it is resolved as quickly as possible. But you know, legal issues can sometimes drag on,” Adams said.
In team figure skating, Russian athletes secured first place, while the United States came second and Japan - third. The ceremony was supposed to take place on Tuesday.
