French attacking midfielder Viviane Asseyi gave a press conference in Rennes on Wednesday, after her side beat Nigeria 1-0 at the FIFA Women's World Cup.
Asseyi was beaming after France topped Group A and secured a potential match against Brazil, who are third in their group, in the next round.
"Does it inspire me? When I hear France vs. Brazil, I think about 1998. This is what made me want to play football. This is what comes to my mind. Now, 21 years later, I hear France vs. Brazil and it's me playing," she said.
The eighth edition of the FIFA Women's World Cup is being hosted in nine cities across France between 7 June and 7 July 2019.
