Description

Dompe Dhuafa, an Islamic Philanthropy Institution in Indonesia, held Eid al-Adha prayers at the Al Madina Mosque in the Parung area, Bogor, on Monday.

The religious holiday comes as the country has been registering larger daily numbers of new COVID cases than India and Brazil.

The holiday is normally celebrated in the circle of extended family and friends, which has been more difficult due to restrictions.

"Eid Al Adha this time really made me sad, very sad, I cried all the time. For two years celebrating this holiday I've been very sad, away from family, unable to celebrate together," said one worshipper.

The Eid al-Adha prayers were carried out with strict health protocols.

According to the tradition, the committee of Dompet Dhuafa sacrificed a sheep after the prayers distributed meat among the community members.
