Groups of bathers ventured to Berlin's Orankesee to plunge into the frozen waters early on Christmas, as seen on Saturday morning.
"It is wonderful, and it always helps. It is positive to make it together; it is positive to experience this cold as coldness can be something positive. It is good against pain. I have back pain, and now it is better," said Marina, one of the participants.
The water was a chilly 2 degrees C (35.6 F), and the air temperature was -7 C (19.4 F).
The annual Christmas swim was postponed last year due to COVID-19.
