"Climate politics are important to me, of course, because I have a child and a grandchild and I think about the future," commented Berlin resident Ramona Jahn.
“And because I have specific ideas of how I can do it within my own lifestyle and I cannot accept that this cannot be done on a larger scale,'' added Jahn.
Over 60 million Germans have the ability to take place in this year's federal election, with around 60,000 polling stations being open until 18:00 local time (16:00 GMT) on Sunday.
"I felt it (the election campaign) was quite exhausting,” said Ben, another Berlin resident.
“I think it's a problem that they (politicians) cannot lead reasonable discussions, but it was always only about not pushing people away and so they shied away from getting into a common dialogue and from really starting an efficient talk on how to achieve a better tomorrow”, added Ben.
For the first time in 16 years, the election is taking place without the participation of the incumbent chancellor, Angela Merkel.
