Description

Footage of the aftermath of an Israeli strike on Khan Younis on July 13 is seen, after the IDF issued a statement on Thursday saying it had 'confirmed' that Hamas chief Mohammed Deif had been killed in the attack.

There was no immediate response from Hamas to the latest statement. It previously claimed Israel had 'failed' to kill the leader .

Footage shows locals transporting dozens of injured people, including children, for medical assistance, as well as retrieving bodies. At least 90 people were killed and another 300 injured in the attack, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health.

At the time, the IDF announced that the airstrike was conducted in co-operation with the General Security Service Shin Bet, and claimed that two Hamas operatives were hiding among civilians in the area. Hamas responded to the attack in a statement shared on their official Telegram channel, stating that Israel claims about "targeting leaders are false claims… to cover up the scale of the horrific massacre".
