Description

The bodies of the victims of an alleged Israeli airstrike on a residential block in Bureij Refugee Camp in Deir al-Balah Governorate in central Gaza were brought to al-Aqsa Hospital on Thursday,

Footage shows the dead and wounded arriving in ambulances and being brought into the emergency ward on stretchers, some of whom were laid out on the floor for treatment. The video also features locals crying and performing funeral prayers for the deceased.

The Palestinian News Agency ‘Wafa’ stated that Israeli warplanes had bombed a residential building in Bureij Refugee Camp, killing at least 15 people and injuring many others.

The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) had not commented on the attack at the time of publication.

“Today, the occupation army committed a brutal massacre in Bureij camp by targeting civilians inside their homes. Al-Aqsa and Al-Awdeh hospitals received 16 martyrs, mostly children, and more than 60 injured, including women and children,” said Dr Khalil al-Dakran, spokesman for the Gazan Ministry of Health and al-Aqsa Hospital.

Al-Dakran also highlighted the dire situation faced by the health system over a lack of medical supplies and hospital beds. He called on the International Community to open the Rafah crossing and allow medical aid into the enclave.

Fighting between Israel and Hamas in Gaza broke out after the Palestinian group launched an unprecedented attack on southern Israel on October 7, killing 1,139 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping over 200, according to Israeli officials.

In the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army launched a large-scale campaign of air strikes and ground incursion, killing at least 39,699 and injuring more than 91,722 others, at the time of publication.
