Description

President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach, Head of Russia's Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov, alongside other officials from different sports organisations arrived at the new headquarters for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Lausanne on Saturday for the second day of the 8th Olympic Summit.

The agenda of the summit is set to focus on several topics of interest and concern, including preparations for the upcoming Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, IOC governance, IOC digital strategy, the Athletes' Support Programme and the fight against doping and protection of clean athletes.

The Olympic Summit is taking place on the eve of the crucial WADA Executive board meeting, that will also be held in Lausanne on December 9, in order to consider its compliance committee's (CRC) report on the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), following recent findings of the alleged manipulation of Moscow laboratory data.

Previously WADA's compliance committee recommended imposing a four-year Olympic ban on Russia and withheld the right of the country to host major international sports events.
