Description

Victims of an alleged Israeli airstrike on a residential building in Deir al-Balah were brought to the city’s Al-Aqsa Hospital on Tuesday.

Footage shows injured Palestinians arriving at the hospital’s courtyard and being brought inside. The bodies of the dead can also be seen on the ground as loved ones mourn and bid them farewell.

A relative in the back of an ambulance bringing the dead and wounded to the hospital explained his anguish over the attack.

“I want to graduate and become an engineer. I don’t want to die. My father was martyred on May 1,” he said.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Tuesday, citing healthcare sources, that an IDF strike had hit a residence in Al-Qastal Towers to the east of the city of Deir al-Balah. Quds News Network reported that four civilians were killed in the attack, including a mother and her two young children.

The Israel Defence Force (IDF) had not commented on the attack at the time of publication.

Fighting between Israel and Hamas in Gaza broke out after the Palestinian group launched an unprecedented attack on southern Israel on October 7, killing 1,139 people, mostly civilians, and kidnapping over 200, according to Israeli officials.

In Gaza, the Israeli army launched a large-scale campaign of air strikes and ground incursion, killing at least 39,790 and injuring more than 91,002 at the time of publication.
