Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh confirmed the Iranian foreign minister will be leaving for New York ahead of the bi-lateral JCPOA meetings at a press conference on Sunday in Tehran.

The foreign minister is set to meet with officials from 45 countries, including with his counterparts representing the remaining members of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), namely Russia, China, the UK, France, and Germany.

He said, "the minister of foreign affairs will have separate and bilateral meetings with all the ministers of the P4+1. If we consider it necessary, if there is a special agenda, if a specific issue should be raised, this meeting can be held collectively between Iran and the P4+1."

Regarding the attitudes towards the United States Khatibzadeh stated, "we do not make any commitment to anyone more than JCPOA, and we do not accept any less benefit than JCPOA."

Khatibzadeh also spoke briefly addressing the murder of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, one of Iran's top nuclear scientists, in late 2020.
