Afghanistan’s acting Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi said that the new Taliban government has protected human rights in the country after seizing power two months ago. He gave the comments on Wednesday at the Moscow format talks on Afghanistan.

"We have guaranteed and protected all human rights currently in Afghanistan. We don’t have any political nor female prisoners. At the current moment, we have protected all human rights", Muttaqi said.

He added that a stabilised and secure Afghanistan “is in the interest of all countries. We want positive relations with others, we also see positive relations from outside."

The third meeting of the Moscow format of consultations on Afghanistan takes place in the Russian capital on Wednesday.
