Police arrested hundreds of pro-Palestine activists at Columbia University on Wednesday, as officers moved in to clear an academic building on the campus.
Footage shows a long line of activists with their hands tied being led to vans by police officers, as crowds chanted 'Free Palestine' and waved flags. Police coaches can also be seen arriving to take those detained into custody.
Columbia said that after its building was 'occupied, vandalised and blockaded, we were left with no choice'. New York Mayor Eric Adams reported that 300 arrests were made in the crackdown at Columbia and the City College of New York.
The campus protests, which have spread to other universities across the country - including UCLA which saw violent clashes between rival groups on Wednesday - are calling for the institutions to cut ties with Israel amid the ongoing Gaza war.
