Protesters gathered by the Pashtun Protection Movement were seen marching across the town with banners. Some demonstrators could be seen waving flags of the former Afghan government.
Protesters decried violence against their ethnic group, civil rights abuse and the reduced opening hours of the Afghan border.
"We were forced to protest. If we are not treated well and trade is not facilitated at the border. We will take the next step", said Pashtun worker Agha Jan, who joined the protest.
