Footage shows a large crater with a tunnel entrance at its bottom. The video also shows people returning to the area in vehicles, carts, and on foot, to inspect their damaged homes.
"We returned and saw unprecedented destruction. This is the third time the Israeli army has stormed Khan Younis <...>. We were shocked to see such huge destruction. During the first and second time, we were happy to return because there wasn’t much destruction. This time <...> We saw bodies scattered across the roads, people who were besieged and when they saw us coming, it was like life came back to them," said Abu Mohammed, a Palestinian citizen.
"We have been here before. We were displaced three times. They told us to leave for al-Mawasi, and so we did. They [Israeli forces] withdrew today after they destroyed everything. This huge crater used to be agricultural greenhouses. They claim that there were tunnels, resistance fighters, and Israeli hostages, but there is nothing," added Ahmed al-Astal, another local.
According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), they have completed a month-long operation in southern and central Gaza, during which they say 'more than 250 Palestinian militants were killed' and 'terrorist infrastructure' was destroyed.
Earlier this month, the Israeli Prime Minister's office revealed that Benjamin Netanyahu is determined to have Israeli forces deployed in the Salah al-Din axis [Philadelphia axis] to prevent Hamas from rearming.
