Pope Francis departed from Rome’s Fiumicino airport for his historic four-day trip to Iraq on Friday.
The Pope will arrive at Baghdad's International Airport.
He will be welcomed in a ceremony at the Presidential Palace and later meet with Iraqi President Barham Salih.
Pope Francis will also hold meetings with civil authorities and members of the diplomatic corps as well as with bishops, priests, religious, consecrated persons, seminarians, and catechists at the Syro-Catholic Cathedral of 'Our Lady of Salvation' in Baghdad.
