Description

CSU chairman Markus Soder acknowledged the failure of the negotiations for a coalition between CDU/CSU, the Green party and FDP in a press conference held on Tuesday in Munich.

"We finally have clarity. Today was a clear pre-determination by the Greens and the FDP and de facto a rejection of 'Jamaica' [coalition formation]," he said.

"The decision is now made, the traffic light [coalition of the SPD, FDP and the Greens] is now the clear number one. We accept that and we look forward to seeing the results of this new government formation," he added.
