Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh spoke regarding the recent nuclear talks in Vienna, stating that Iran expects a 'responsible, complete and verifiable return to the JCPOA' by the US, as seen in Tehran on Monday.

"What is happening in Vienna today is focusing on all four issues: lifting sanctions and nuclear issues, verification and obtaining guarantees", Khatibzadeh said, stressing that 'good progress' had been made in those areas.

The spokesperson went on to say that Tehran expects a 'responsible, complete and verifiable return to the JCPOA' by the US.

Talks have been ongoing to revive the Iran nuclear deal also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) which the Donald Trump administration left in 2018.

Khatibzadeh also spoke on the killing of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, stressing that the country would 'prosecute the perpetrators, commanders, advisors and all those involved' in the killing.

Stating that there are 'some US officials' who Tehran view as accomplices to the murder, Khatibzadeh said, "We will not forgive, we will not forget, and we will pursue the crime of the United States that night with all our might."
