Around 200 climate activists representing the Extinction Rebellion group continued with demonstrations and civil disobedience in order to raise awareness on various animal welfare and climate issues in Berlin on Friday. The protests led to several arrests as demonstrators and police clashed.
As part of the ‘Rise Up’ action week, protesters attached themselves to posts and vehicles as another group of protesters climbed atop the Brandenburg Gate.
During the protest, several protesters were arrested and taken into custody by police who also escorted protesters off of Brandenburg Gate who had chained themselves to the monument.
