Another fan mentioned travelling from Colombia to welcome 'the future king of football'.
"Mbappe is going to sit at the table where Messi is sitting, where Cristiano is sitting because he is the next best player in history. And we come to support him and welcome him to the new temple," the fan explained.
Mbappe went on to play 86 minutes in his home debut, before being replaced by another debutant, the 18-year-old Brazilian forward Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa. Endrick marked his debut performance with a goal, scoring Madrid's third deep into added time.
